Everyone's a Critic! by Grant Tilly

September 28th, 2025

Failed mystery novelist Martin Collins has moved to a bucolic town on the shores of Lake Erie hoping to find much-needed inspiration. Things take a turn when he attends a Business Development meeting on a secluded peninsular estate and finds himself embroiled in a murder investigation. First, the co-heiress of the estate's body is discovered, then the mayor gets an axe to the back, next the town bank manager dies from smoking a poisoned cigarette. What's even worse is that the killer seems to be following the plot lines from all of Martin's unpublished novels. Soon very few suspects remain, and Martin looks like the most likely suspect. With a storm having washed out the road to the mainland, Martin must solve the case to prove his innocence while under the watchful eye of his favourite detective, the now-retired Chief Inspector Linda Barkley.

The Kiss by Fleur Jacobs

March 29th, 2026

Set in rural Pennsylvania in the late 1800s, The Kiss tells the story of Miriam Holler, a devout Amish woman trapped in a passionless marriage, and a charismatic Irish tinker whose brief encounter with her stirs powerful emotions. Through alternating monologues, the two characters recount their separate but intertwined stories of desire, temptation, and forbidden longing. As Miriam wrestles with her faith, duty, and yearning for something more, the Tinker is equally haunted by the memory of their fleeting connection. Their emotional and physical attraction culminates in a single kiss—one that marks a point of no return for Miriam. Pregnant and abandoned, she is left to face the judgment of her community alone. The play closes on a haunting note of betrayal and loss, as the Tinker disappears into the distance and Miriam awaits her fate.
