What a wonderful first week of performances. The cast has been brilliant and growing into the show and having a lovely time. For the next few days, we rest and relax then get back into the swing of things! My love to cast and crew for all the hard work they’ve put in to make this show wonderful. Thank you all!

Life in London in the early 1940s wasn't easy......

Air raids and blackouts were a near daily occurrence as the Royal Air Force (with help from the Canadians and other former British colonies) fought off the Luftwaffe's attacks. The London Underground and many cellars were converted into bomb shelters during this period and running for safety was taught in schools. You also had to keep your gas mask within reach at all times.
"Never was so much owed by so many to so few" was part of a wartime speech made by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill on 20 August 1940, referring to the air men who fought in the Battle of Britain. The Air Force's influence on the outcome of the war in Britain was monumental. Below are some pictures from London and the shelters which people inhabited during the air raids.
Air Raids & Siren Songs depicts some of these struggles that people lived through during the Second World War. Come and check out this lovely piece of community theatre in November. Get your tickets at Black Knight Inn Ticket Centre!

It's lovely that you have shared you are going to the show or interested in going but please don't leave it to the last minute to purchase tickets and don't rely on tickets to be available at the door.
They might be sold out ! So buy them now at the Black Knight Inn Ticket Centre and don't be disappointed.
We'd love to see you

We need some help!

Hi everyone! Hoping some of you theatre fans may be able to help us! We need some extension cords that we could use for the run of the show. We'd need them from October 27th to November 5th approximately (we don't need them when we start in the Scott Block Theatre.) We need 8x 50 foot cords and 4x 75 foot cords, longer will also work. We will mark ownership and keep track of them all to ensure they're returned in good condition, and we will dearly appreciate your help with the show! Please message me if you can help!

Costumes and hair are very important to recreating the 1940s. Check out some of our cast members modelling their new hairstyles and military uniforms and other costume pieces we've found along the way! Thank you to the Red Deer Legion, Branch 35 and to Kim Groom-Keating of Bespoke Hair Artisans for creating these lovely looks tonight!
