Carole Forhan

As most theatre lovers and practitioners in our small community know by this point, the Red Deer cultural community is diminished, and in shadow, as  a result of the tragic passing of one of the most energetic and dynamic personalities we have known. Carole Forhan succumbed to her illness on Monday, October 24th, 2016. She leaves behind a loving family and many, many grieving friends. For all of us in the theatre community we say goodbye to Carole, dear friend, mentor, actor, playwright and stalwart supporter of the community. Carole was a founding member of Red Deer Players, and a  long standing  and life member of Central Alberta Theatre. Carole's triumphs spread from Montreal, to Saskatoon, to Drumheller and to here, in Red Deer! Wherever Carole  went, she sprinkled and spread seeds - seeds  of love,  of theatre, of people , of animals and of community. She was the Sun to our Sunflowers - where she went, she was the light to which we responded. Our hearts are heavy and our eyes are full. But she wouldn't want this. She would want our hearts and our eyes to to be light, and bright. So, here's to you Carole - Break a Leg!
