Cassidy Crawford

This is Cassidy’s first term on the Red Deer Players board and she is excited to put her rich arts and theatre experience, both technical and administrative, to work in helping RDP fulfill its destiny in the Red Deer arts community.

Cassidy holds two diplomas in technical theatre from both John Abbott College in     Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec and most recently from Red Deer College where she also received the 2015 Governor General’s Academic Medal (Collegiate Bronze Level) Award. Currently she is enrolled in the Arts and Cultural Management online program at MacEwan University in Edmonton.

Cassidy has worked with professional and community based arts organizations in a variety of roles including sound, lighting and stage technician, technical director, stage manager, scenic painter and has had the opportunity to ply her crafts to RDP’s most recent productions including Calendar Girls and Airs Raids & Siren Songs.

Cassidy’s toolbox also includes a wealth of small business and customer service experience gained through freelancing as a theatre technician and several business ventures co-owned with her husband including a music store and small engine shop.

The combination of arts based training and business experience is what affords Cassidy the ability to take on her newest role as a board member and treasurer with gusto and she is honoured to be a part of RDP and excited about its bright future.
